Jude Laurén has spent 22 years caring for animals with a devotion that shaped not just her days, but her understanding of love itself. Long before she became a writer, she was someone who noticed. The small rituals, the quiet loyalty, the moments most people walk past without a second glance. That noticing became the foundation for everything she writes.

Jude’s life has taken her across continents and coastlines, from quiet mornings by unfamiliar shores to conversations with strangers who became, briefly, family. Travel taught her that connection doesn’t need a shared language. Not with people, and not with animals. Every place she’s visited has left something behind: a story, a lesson, a reminder that the world is far more tender than it often appears.

Then came Buster, an 18-pound bundle of mischief and devotion who became her constant companion for 12 years. Their life together was filled with ordinary rituals, road trips, caregiving, laughter, aging, and the kind of love that quietly becomes family. My Little Love grew from Jude’s desire to capture that whole journey, not only how Buster left, but how fully he lived and how deeply he shaped the life they shared.
